Argentina: Apertura 2007, 1st Week

So, it started.

The first week brought several sudden results. Both newcomers won. Both - away. Gimnasia de La Plata and Argentinos by these losses have declared themselves as the main potential losers of the championship. Velez gained three points in Santa Fe, despite the expulsion of Uruguayan Lima. The only goal was scored by recovered Damian Escudero. Estudiantes has destroyed Banfield in Buenos Aires, which is no surprise, given the style the chiefs of "El Taladro" are ruling their team in. Strengthened San Lorenzo unexpectedly lost in Rosario to weakened Newells, a truly mysterious team that manages to refill its resources every time at the expense of nobody knows what. Racing won quite expectedly in Bahia Blanca. Boca started the season at Bombonera with a draw against Central, which does not say much for now. The match between River and Gimnasia de Jujuy was postponed. The best week's game took place in Avellaneda, where Independiente and Lanus jointly scored 8 times. Troglio started very well with El Rojo. Let's see for how long his enthusiasm is about to last.
